Dear Skunk Rock Families,
Thank you for signing up for fall of 2023 – our 7th consecutive session!
While I’m always excited to start a new session, there are a lot of reasons that I’m especially excited for this one! My favorite skunkers are coming back for more; I have Caleb to collaborate with, dream up lesson plans and performance ideas; I have 7 sessions of past lesson plans and know which ones really work; Skunkapalooza 2023 is top of mind and we’re looking into renting an indoor space so we don’t have to sit outside in the cold like in past sessions; I’ve finally succeeded in organizing the days by age groups which will help with teaching; We’ve added a middle school group with kids who have significant musical experience and can help lead the way for younger Skunkers; We’ve organized a variety of guest teachers; And we’ve organized the curriculum into 3 ‘trimesters’ of 5 weeks each. Check out our weekly agenda HERE!
So yes, there’s lots to look forward to. I am so thankful for each and everyone of you and your adorable, smart and creative children. They bring me so much joy. Thank you for sharing them with me!
Sincerely,
Val

Location and map
Rehearsals are located at 1616 N. Prairie Way 86004. The Drive was is REALLY steep so park in the cul-de-sac and walk up. Come to the front door and if you haven’t been here before come in for a tour of the studio!
Drop off and pick up
Drop off is at 4pm. Once you and your skunker are comfortable with it you can just drop them off at the bottom of the driveway and they can walk up. The front door will be open.
Pickup is at 6pm. We do a free jam at the end of each session. So come on up if you’d like to check it out. Or if you’d rather not come up the hill, that’s fine too. We’ll have all the Skunkers ready to go at 6:00 and will bring them down the hill for pickup.
Holidays
Skunk Rock will not be open the week of 11/20. We will also be closed on 9/4 Labor Day and 10/12 fall break. For Skunkers who’s days fall on these holidays we will make up the 2hours during the last week of practice before the performance.
Snow days
In the case of excessive snow days we may have to extend the program end date and will keep you posted if that occurs.
